ABOUT US
Rediscover STEAM sheds light on the often untold or overlooked stories of women who broke down barriers and made strides in the STEAM fields (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) throughout history to empower the next generation of change-makers and give these incredible women the credit they deserve for their contributions to our society. We aim to rewrite the narrative that women cannot be successful in the STEAM fields and share stories from a diverse set of backgrounds, so that everyone can find someone whose journey, experiences, and perspective resonate with them.
ABOUT US
Rediscover STEAM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth-led organization and publication that sheds light on the often overlooked and untold stories of women in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics throughout history to increase representation and diversity in the fields and bridge the gender gap. We aim to rewrite the false narrative that gender minorities cannot be successful in male-dominated fields and to share stories from a diverse set of backgrounds, so that everyone can find someone whose experiences and identity resonate with them. We make an active effort to highlight women of history of different races, ethnicities, cultures, sexualities, religions, socioeconomic levels, etc. New articles up every Saturday!

SO WHAT DO WE DO?
Tell the often untold or overlooked stories of gender minorities in the STEAM fields throughout history and award them equal credit to their male counterparts.

Provide role models from a diverse set of backgrounds, whether this be race and ethnicity, sexuality, religion, etc. for people to look up to and relate to.

Empower future generations by looking to the past as well as provide resources, mentorship, and opportunities to pursue the STEAM fields today
