Code Girls by Liza Mundy (book). About the clandestine work of cryptanalysis during WW2, which was overwhelmingly driven by women! The nonfiction book discusses the work that these amazing women had to do to decipher enemy codes from the Japanese and Germans during WW2. Their work, however, was kept secret because of the confidentiality of their service- not even their family or closest friends knew what they were doing. Their service was crucial to winning the war, and the tasks at hand relied heavily on women’s skills in language and mathematics, especially statistics.
